Is The Treatment Suitable For Overweight Clients As A Weight Loss Method?

Who Is Suitable For Aqualyx Fat dissolving Injections?

It is suitable for clients who do not want the more invasive liposuction or laser Lipo treatments &  do not have large amounts of fat to remove. This treatment is not designed as a solution for removing significant amounts of fat, or an alternative to exercise. A person who finds that a small amount of stubborn fat is affecting the contouring of their body, despite eating a balanced diet and taking regular exercise, is more likely to get the results they seek.

Clients need to be over the age of 18. The treatment is also not suitable for pregnant or lactating women, or those with a pathological condition (for example: polycystic ovaries)

 

Are The Results Immediate? 

This treatment does require some patience -  most clients notice a visible difference within six weeks with subsequent treatments further improving the overall result. 

 

How many treatments are required? 

This is dependant on the area being treated, most Clients require two or four treatments, 3-4 weeks apart.

 

Is This Treatment safe?

This treatment is growing in popularity and is often the preferred choice, compared with other methods of fat reduction. It is considered to be less invasive than more traditional solutions, with virtually no downtime. A trained & qualified practitioner should be administering the treatment at a verified and reputable clinic, in order to ensure the treatment is carried out safely and effectively. How Does It Work?

Adipocytes or fat cells are broken down with the use of sodium deoxycholate solution (Aqualyx). This causes a localised inflammatory response from the body. The inflammatory response is vital and allows the destroyed fat cells to be removed and excreted via the kidneys. Once the fat cells have been destroyed by the solution the effect is permanent.

Aqualyx works by causing an inflammatory reaction in the fat cells which can result in swelling that lasts 3-5 days. This swelling can be obvious when having facial treatments (Chin). During this time you may want to organise time off work/social events.

 

What Does It Feel Like, Does It Hurt?

The area will feel warm, you may experience an itching, stinging or slight burning sensation. A local anaesthetic is added to the solution so there is minimal pain during the treatment, some clients don’t feel anything at all during their treatment.

 

How Quickly Will I See Results?

The outcome may take a few days to develop as the body needs time for the process to work. A reduction in fat deposits can usually be seen after just one treatment, however between three & eight sessions are sometimes required on larger areas to see the optimal effect. The speed at which results are seen will vary depending on the stability of the cell membranes; younger clients are more likely to see results after a longer period. Typically results appear within weeks to months, and keep improving as additional treatments are administered.

Results & Clients experience may vary. These are dependant on a number of factors such as age, medical history & lifestyle.

 

What Are The Side Effects?

Minimal side effects have been reported globally since its introduction, but Clients can experience a little skin irritation - red, tight & slight itching. In the few weeks that follow your treatment, you may experience numbness, redness, swelling and bruising at the treatment site. As these effects should be minor and temporary, any prolonged reaction should be reported to Mel who will be able to help. The treated area may feel tender & firm for up to eight weeks following your treatment.

 

When Can I have My Next Treatment?

All side effects must have fully resolved before a further treatment can be preformed. Usually Clients can book their next treatment 3-4 weeks later. Please schedule a complimentary review six weeks following your last treatment.
